Tutoring tailored to each student

We don’t have standard programs or lessons. Your child has a standard lesson plan at school. Instead, we create lessons based on your child’s unique needs. We monitor your child's progress and change our approach whenever necessary. This is why we are so effective and it's why we get results.
We get that when you're considering tutoring, you want to talk about it now! Call 0438 546 314 Monday-Friday to tell us about your child. If we can't answer, leave a message and we'll make sure to call you back as soon as we possibly can!

Strict Pomodoro

Strict Pomodoro is a timer that forms part of your internet browser. It prevents you from going on social media and other time-wasting sites for 25 minutes, then it gives you a 5 minute break. It’s a great way to stop the procrastination cycle! But watch out – once you start the timer, there’s no going back…

But wait, there’s more!

These resources are for parents, and older students who take responsibility for their own learning.

Irlen’s Syndrome

Kate is a qualified pre-screeners for Irlen’s Dyslexia. In a nutshell, that means that we can pick up on children who are struggling with reading because their brain isn’t processing the letters properly. Something like 12%-20% of the population deals with Irlen’s Dyslexia (ever noticed Bono’s coloured glasses?), and yep, you guessed it, the solution is filters or tinted glasses. For children with Irlen’s, reading off a white-board or white sheet of paper can be hell, and they don’t even realise it. Finding out that a tint can help is often a big piece of the puzzle for kids who have seen specialist after specialist about their reading and writing.

Let us know if you would like pre-screening for your child – we can generally do this during your initial free tutoring lesson.

Check out the Irlen’s Dyslexia site for more information and resources.

ADHD and Concentration

In terms of concentration at school, this is a big issue for parents. At the most basic, we work with your children the way you have always known them to need – in short bursts, changing tasks, and with the ability to move around if necessary. Here are some more popular techniques and activities for helping children with ADHD to get through their school-work:

Empowering Parents – Improving Concentration for ADHD

ADDitude – Dealing with distractions in class and at home

A natural approach?

In the local area, we love working with Integrated Health in Leichhardt. Jason works with a number of children with ADD and ADHD with the aim of getting them off strong medication onto more natural remedies to improve concentration and overall well-being for the long-term.
